Non-uniformed Volunteers

Like all charities, 1st Littleport Scout Group is always on the look out for a little extra help.

If you do want to become a hands-on leader, wonderful, but our leaders do not work alone...

There are a wide range of roles available to suit adults of any level of experience or availability. You may want to stay in the background, or maybe you can't commit time every week; we still have a role for you. We always need more help running activities, organising, fundraising, or even looking after our equipment.

Non-Uniformed Roles
  • Occasional Helper
  • Group Executive Committee Member
  • Group Quartermaster
  • Group Secretary
  • Group Treasurer
  • Group Chair

Uniformed Leaders

The heart of any Scout Group is its leaders.

Section Leaders and Assistant Section Leaders plan the program of activities for their Section (Squirrels / Beavers / Cubs / Scouts). These activities are then delivered to their Young Members in weekly meetings with the help of the Section Assistant and any Occasional Helpers present.

The Group Scout Leader and Assistant Group Scout Leader manage all the leaders in the Scout Group. They are responsible for ensuring training is completed, that each section has the leaders it needs, and that activities are delivered in a safe way.

All leaders receive training tailored to their role, to help them keep our Young Members safe and deliver a complete programme of activities.

Uniformed Roles
  • Section Assistant
  • Assistant Section Leader
  • Section Leader
  • Assistant Group Scout Leader
  • Group Scout Leader
