Cub Scouts

Cubs are typically aged between 8 and 10½ years. We occasionally accept Cubs a little younger than 8 if they are new to Scouting or if a Beaver is especially keen to move up.

1st Littleport Cub Scouts form two Packs: Lark meet on Tuesdays, and Sandhill meet on Wednesdays. Both Packs follow the same programme of activities. Cubs may drop-in on the other pack for an evening by prior arrangement.

A typical meeting will open with our "Grand Howl" ceremony and flag break. Depending on our plan for the evening, we'll try to fit in a game before getting started on our main activity, or we'll try to include a game at the end of the session.

Our activities cover wide range of skill sets, from the domestic to the adventurous. The whole Cubs programme is designed to give young people valuable life skills and experiences, and to help them reveal their own strengths and talents.

Although most Cubs move on to Scouts around 10½ years, we're quite flexible about this. Often, a small group of Cubs want to move on together, we try to allow this as much as possible.

Find out more about being a Cub on our national website.
